Motorola Lenovo Acquisition Response

If you were worried that Motorola changing hands after its recent $2.9 billion acquisition by Lenovo would affect its products in any meaningful way: don't be. Motorola has managed to avoid much of the bloatware and the unwanted features that have pervaded phones from other vendors, and it's going to stay that way. That's the message Motorola CEO Rick Osterloh wanted to convey in a recent blog post on the Motorola blog.

Samsung Android TouchWiz UI

There are two things you can bring up that will almost instantly annoy certain diehard Android fans: The first is mentioning what a drag it is to wait so long for the latest software updates thanks to carrier and OEM constraints. The other is Samsung's TouchWiz UI, which is to many Android fans what Jar Jar Binks is to Star Wars fans or what Nikki and Paulo were for Lost fans — that is, something that's capable of single-handedly wrecking something they otherwise love.

Free Android Phone Offer Burger King

With the huge number of Android phones out there, it can admittedly be difficult to keep track of them all. That said, we don't think we've ever seen anything quite like the "free" Android phone that's being offered by Burger King right now that was flagged by an eagle-eyed Redditor this week.

Sony HT-ST5 Sound Bar Review

I've always considered myself a utilitarian when it comes to my home entertainment center. I don't need the four-speaker surround sound system, the wall mount or even the nice leather chair -- just give me a couch and a television and I'm set. That's always been my stance and I thought it always would be... until I tried out Sony's new HT-ST5 sound bar.

Microsoft Smartphone Leaked Picture

Well wouldn't you know it — Microsoft might be planning to release a flagship Windows phone sometime soon after all. Nowhereelse.fr has posted a picture that it says might be the front panel of Microsoft's first-ever self-branded smartphone — and no, we're not counting the legendarily awful Kin as an actual smartphone.

Newson is a longtime friend of Jony Ive. Last year, Ive and Newson teamed up to create a range of products for an auction to benefit Product (RED), including an aluminum desk, a Leica camera, and a set of solid gold EarPods, among other items.
"Marc is without question one of the most influential designers of this generation," Ive said in a statement provided to VF Daily. "He is extraordinarily talented. We are particularly excited to formalize our collaboration as we enjoy working together so much and have found our partnership so effective."

According to the report, Newson will continue to be based in the United Kingdom, but will make frequent trips to the company's Cupertino headquarters. Newson is also said to have collaborated on some designs for Apple earlier this year, before joining the company.

While Newson will work under Jony Ive, it is unclear which specific projects he will take on. When asked if he would work on the iWatch, Apple declined to comment.

Why Are Beats So Expensive

Beats headphones aren't exactly beloved in the audiophile community and yet Dr. Dre's company still gets away with charging an obscene $300 per pair for its Beats Studio Headphones. Why? Microsoft Office For iPad Printing

Microsoft's Office suite has been a big hit on the iPad so far but it was also missing a crucial feature when it was first released last month: The ability to print out your documents from your tablet. Don't fret, however, because Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it's issuing its first update on Office for iPad that will enable printing on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Other features included in the update are SmartGuides, a PowerPoint feature designed to "help you align pictures, shapes, and textboxes as you move them around on a slide," and AutoFit, a new Excel feature that "lets you adjust the width of multiple rows or the height of multiple columns at the same time. With just a few taps, you’ll be sure that your spreadsheet looks better and that no content is hidden."

Apple Campus 2 Video

Apple is taking innovation to the office space with Apple Campus 2, a development that will house some of the tens of thousands of Apple employees that live in and around Cupertino, California. In the latest video, Apple proclaims that it has "a shot of building the best office building in the world." The mothership, as the circular building is colloquially know, was designed with Stanford in mind, another campus that Steve Jobs visited frequently and remembered fondly.

You can get a feel for the upgraded camera, the fitness capabilities, the water-resistant body and more through the Feature Experience mode or watch the phone in action with links to some of the videos Samsung has been releasing since the announcement.

Sony PS4 Supply And Demand

If there's any downside to the massive demand for the PlayStation 4, it's that some consumers still haven't had a chance to buy the new console. According to Sony, this trend will likely continue until the "early summer months," when supply will finally meet demand, reports The Wall Street Journal . Anxious gamers will finally get a chance to pick up a PS4 without having to resort to expensive bundles or long trips to a retailer with the console in stock. With the launch of Infamous: Second Son just hours away, demand for the console is likely to be as high as ever. We'll keep an eye out to see if retailers struggle to keep up over the weekend.
