Believe it or not, Blizzard has been working on more than just Hearthstone over the past several months. On Monday, the developer revealed that Heroes of the Storm, its take on the MOBA genre, will officially launch on June 2nd after entering into its technical alpha phase just over a year ago.

Best iPhone Apps Cleanup Duplicate Contacts

Have you looked at your phone's contacts list lately? If so then you may find that it's become something of a mess that's filled with people you've contacted once or twice over email who have now been imported into your master list. This problem is particularly bad if you import your contacts from multiple email accounts, which can lead to lots of duplicate entries for the same people. Thankfully, Joanna Stern of The Wall Street Journal has alerted us to a terrific app called Cleanup Duplicate Contacts that does a lot of the dirty work of fixing your overstuffed contacts list for you.

Frog Species Kermit

I've always found it fascinating when researchers discover entirely new species. Not only does it serve as a helpful reminder that there's still so much more on this earth left to discover, it also introduces us to some ridiculously crazy creatures, such as this cartwheeling spider from Morocco.

The most recent species discovery comes to us from Costa Rica, where researchers uncovered a completely new species of glass frog. While the new frog species can't do any cartwheels, it's worth highlighting because it bears an uncanny resemblance to a much more famous frog: Kermit the Frog from The Muppets, to be exact.

HBO Now vs. Netflix: VPN Streaming

If you’re a paying HBO Now subscriber and have no idea what a VPN is, your account is safe. However, if you happen to love HBO’s new streaming deal but you are paying for it from outside the U.S. and connecting through a VPN service, then you might be in trouble.

Angela Ahrendts today sent out a video to Apple retail employees, once again reiterating Apple's Apple Watch policies and explaining why the company has decided not to accept walk-in orders.

In the video, shared by French site Mac4Ever [Google Translate], Ahrendts again told employees that the Apple Watch is only available online due to global demand exceeding supply. She also emphasized Apple's efforts to give customers the best possible ordering experience by restricting in-store orders and said there are no plans to change the current Apple Watch ordering process.

It was not an easy decision, and I think it's really important to remind every single customer that this is not just a new product for us, this is an entirely new category. And the first time we've ever previewed a product two weeks before availability.

The great news is from anyone who did pre-order, they'll start getting their orders this Friday.
Ahrendts told employees that she'll be providing updates on supply on a week by week basis, and she asked retail employees to prepare to help customers who will be receiving a pre-ordered Apple Watch in the near future. Ahrendts also once again confirmed that the Apple Watch launch is a unique situation and not reflective of Apple's launch plans going forward. "We love our launches we do in stores," she said. "Have absolutely no fear, this is a unique situation."

The video also covered the MacBook, which has been highly limited even in first wave launch countries. Ahrendts said the response to the MacBook has been "overwhelming" and that it was one of Apple's best MacBook launches yet. Demand for the Space Gray and Gold MacBooks was described as "off the charts."

ASUS Zenfone 2 4GB RAM Video

It seems like every year we see hot new hardware promise killer specs that will change the way we use our smartphones. While these specs are often over-hyped, it actually does look like smartphones with 4GB of RAM will allow us to do things on our phones that we never could do before, such as have multiple graphics-intensive games open and running at the same time.

New York City North Brother Island Pictures

So you think you know everything there is to know about New York City, do you? Then you might be pleasantly surprised to discover a hidden corner of the city that’s been deserted for decades and is still preserved just as it was in 1963 when it was abandoned. Well, not exactly the same -- nature has taken its toll on the place and has left it looking like a scene from Fallout 3.

Apple Watch Delivery

With supply of the Apple Watch exceedingly low, and shipping times delayed as a result, Apple today sent out emails to iOS developers offering them an opportunity purchase a 42mm Apple Watch Sport with a blue Sport band with a guaranteed shipping date of April 28th.

The purpose behind the offer is, quite naturally, to give developers a better chance to test out their Apple Watch apps as soon as possible. Note, though, that not every interested developer will be able to get a new Apple Watch so quickly. Because supply is limited, developers who apply will be chosen by Apple at random this Thursday.

Microsoft Xbox One E3 2015 Plans

It's been a relatively slow start for the Xbox One in 2015, with hardly any exclusives to speak of save for Screamride and Ori and the Blind Forest. That's not to say that the PS4 has been outpacing Microsoft's console by much, but if the Xbox One is going to stand a chance of taking the lead this year, it's going to need to have a big E3.

According to Phil Spencer, that's exactly what Microsoft has in store.

whatsapp.pngAfter promising to deliver voice calling capabilities back in 2014, WhatsApp has finally delivered, introducing voice over IP features in its latest update. With the new version of the app, it's possible for WhatsApp users to call friends and family directly within the app using a Wi-Fi or cellular connection at no cost.

The introduction of voice calling to the Facebook-owned WhatsApp app puts it on par with Facebook's other messaging app, Facebook Messenger, which gained voice calling back in 2013. It also allows the app to better compete with other iOS-based VoIP calling options like Skype and FaceTime Audio.

Today's WhatsApp update also brings a few other features, including the iOS 8 share extension for sharing videos, photos, and links to WhatsApp from other apps, contact editing tools, and the ability to send multiple videos at one time.
What's new
-WhatsApp Calling: Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they're in another country. WhatsApp calls use your phone's Internet connection rather than your cellular plan's voice minutes. Data charges may apply. Note: WhatsApp Calling is rolling out slowly over the next several weeks.

-iOS 8 share extension: Share photos, videos, and links right to WhatsApp from other apps.

-Quick camera button in chats: Now you can capture photos and videos, or quickly choose a recent camera roll photo or video.

-Edit your contacts right from WhatsApp.

-Send multiple videos at once and crop and rotate videos before sending them.
WhatsApp can be downloaded from the App Store for free. The new WhatsApp calling feature will be rolling out to users over the next few weeks. [Direct Link]

GoPro Be A Hero Office Job Video

Let's face it: Most people who buy GoPro cameras probably aren't leading the exciting lives that we see in GoPro's promotional videos. YouTube user Braziliandanny recently wore his GoPro all day while doing his incredibly boring office job and made a hilarious compilation video that shows just how boring day-to-day existence can really be.

As of yesterday afternoon, credit and debit cards have been charged and many Apple Watch pre-orders have begun shifting from "Processing Items" to "Preparing for Shipment" as Apple prepares to send out the first Apple Watch orders to customers who pre-ordered on Friday, April 10.

Shipment emails have yet to go out from Apple, but a few lucky customers have gotten a heads up on their orders through UPS' "My Choice" opt-in emails, which lets people sign up to get notifications whenever a package is sent to their address. These emails suggest the first Apple Watch orders will indeed be arriving on Friday, April 24.

upsmychoiceapplewatch
On reddit, one Apple Watch buyer got what appears to be an accidental UPS notice about a package being unable to be delivered, letting him know his Apple Watch is on its way from Rialto, CA. We've also heard from a MacRumors reader who got a similar notice, with an alert about an upcoming Apple Watch package from Apple set to be delivered on Tuesday, April 21.

When checking that tracking number, it states that a UPS shipping label has been created and that the order has been processed and is ready for UPS. Both customers confirm they have no other orders such as accessories currently pending with Apple.

These alerts appear to have been delivered prematurely, as we've seen only these two reports of such notices, and it's unlikely the readers who have a delivery alerts will receive their package before Friday, but they do give us our first hints that tracking numbers are starting to go out and may be showing up in shipment emails in the near future.

upsapplewatchtracking
While many people who pre-ordered early have had their credit or debit cards charged and have seen their order statuses change, there are some early pre-orderers who still have not had their orders shift to "Preparing for Shipment" as seen in this Google document. Space Gray Sport watches, Space Black stainless steel watches, and stainless steel watches with Milanese Loop, Classic Buckle, and Black Sport Band seem to make up the majority of those that have not yet seen a status change.

Apple Watch orders that have not yet changed should not cause alarm, as based on the early tracking info received, Apple is using Next Day Air shipments.

Customers who do have a "Preparing for Shipment" notification may be able to get an early look at where their watches are located by using UPS and FedEx's "Track By Reference" tools, using a phone number to locate an order.
