AgileBits this morning announced that an incoming update to its popular password-managing app 1Password will include an Apple Watch version of the service, providing users an even easier way to manage and easily remember their most important passwords.

Like most upcoming Apple Watch apps, 1Password's wrist-worn counterpart will act as a companion to the traditional full-fledged iPhone app. AgileBits, the app's creator, hopes that the location of the Watch on a user's wrist, versus reaching for an iPhone, provides more ease-of-use in accessing the app for an oft-forgotten password.

You don’t need to be an intrepid inspector (or a precocious crime-solver in pigtails) to appreciate the awesomeness of having 1Password on your wrist. 1Password for Apple Watch helps you find the little pieces of secret info you need every day, quickly and easily. If you need the code to open your garage door, one of your one-time passwords, or to look up your credit card number while phoning in an order for pizza, 1Password is right there for you.

In addition to preparing for an Apple Watch app, the 1Password 5.4 update offers fans of the service a few new features, including a "mark all as read" button in the Message Center, a toggle to remove the unread badge from the settings tabs, and other basic bug fixes.

1Password can be downloaded on the App Store for free. [Direct Link]

With just under a month until the April 24 launch date of the Apple Watch, internationally renowned Nanoblock artist Christopher Tan has re-created the Apple Watch in block form in anticipation of the wearable's release next month.

As Tan notes, the sculpture is a 2.6x scale model of the 42mm Apple Watch created from over 800 pieces of Nanoblock, which is a popular building block product in Japan, akin to LEGOs. Tan says he's "been a long-time Apple fan" and is "eagerly anticipating the Apple Watch."

Tan has been creating Apple-related Nanoblock structures for a while now, last year debuting a 2,000-piece structure of the Fifth Avenue Apple Store, complete with the iconic glass cube entrance and descending spiral staircase. Tan's creations have earned him spreads in magazines and even award recognition in the Nanoblock company's own spotlight of the best creations and creators using the product.

Stop whining about iOS 8.2

iOS 8.2 Features

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to issue a brief plea. Please, for the love of whatever it is you love, stop whining about iOS 8.2 and the new Apple Watch app it added to your home screen. Seriously, we cannot stress enough how absolutely, positively, pathetically ridiculous you sound.

We idly sat by when people complained about things like not being able to delete stock iOS apps and seeing U2's album automatically appear in the Music app, but come on... enough is enough.

iPad sales slowed in the fourth quarter as the worldwide tablet market experienced its first year-over-year decline since being established in 2010, according to the latest numbers from market research firm IDC. Apple shipped 24.1 million iPads for 28.1% market share in the fourth quarter to maintain a comfortable lead over Samsung, which shipped 11 million tablets during the three-month period ending December for 14.5% market share.

The worldwide tablet market continues to be mainly a two-horse race between Apple and Samsung, with smaller competitors such as Lenovo, Asus and Amazon shipping just 3.7 million, 3 million and 1.7 million tablets respectively during the fourth quarter. IDC says that, despite a year-over-year decline, worldwide tablet shipments increased 4.4% to total 229.6 million units in 2014.
"The tablet market is still very top heavy in the sense that it relies mostly on Apple and Samsung to carry the market forward each year," said Jitesh Ubrani, Senior Research Analyst, Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker. "Although Apple expanded its iPad lineup by keeping around older models and offering a lower entry price point of $249, it still wasn't enough to spur iPad sales given the excitement around the launch of the new iPhones. Meanwhile, Samsung's struggles continued as low-cost vendors are quickly proving that mid- to high-priced Android tablets simply aren't cut out for today's tablet market."
