MCX may claim that its CurrentC mobile payment platform is a bold challenge to the mobile payments status quo but its target audience isn't seeing it that way so far. In fact, it looks that like as Android fans have done, iPhone fans have also taken to trashing CurrentC on their favorite platform's app store and are often doing so in rather humorous ways.
After launching on iPad last year, Parallels Access is now available on iPhone and on Android smartphone and tablets, allowing users to remotely access their computers easier than ever, no matter whether they’re Macs or PCs. In addition to supporting more mobile devices, including Android-based ones, Parallels has also introduced a new Parallels Access for Business app that will allow companies “centrally assign, manage and secure remote access to their computers."
Apple CEO Tim Cook seems to get a lot of grief from investors and analysts because he's not Steve Jobs. However, as a new profile of Cook in The New York Times makes clear, Cook is smart enough to understand that he's not Steve Jobs and that nobody alive right now really is. However, just because there's no Steve Jobs that doesn't mean Apple is devoid of vision or talent and the company under Cook is relying more on teamwork than it did when Jobs was running the show.
Even though it bashed Google a number of times in ads for the way the Search giant is monetizing its services by accessing personal information from users to deliver better targeted ads, it turns out that Microsoft can equally "scroogle" one’s privacy if it wants to. Or at least it was able to do so in the past, as the company is now planning certain changes to further guard the privacy of users.
Samsung on Wednesday announced that U.K. buyers interested in the Galaxy S5 will be able to pre-order the smartphone starting with Friday, March 28, from select retailers, the company’s local e-store and the Stratford Westfield Experience Store. While Samsung did not say in its press release how much the device will cost, various retailers and mobile operators that are already taking Galaxy S5 pre-orders have debunked a rumor that said the phone will be more affordable than the Galaxy S4.
