Apple still wants to ban Samsung phones that aren’t even for sale anymore

Following its multi-million dollar win against Samsung, Apple still wants to ban some of the devices found to be infringing on its patents, even though most of these products aren’t available for sale in the U.S. anymore. The company on Thursday filed a renewed motion for a permanent injunction, FOSS Patents reports, seeking a hearing on the matter to be held as early as January 30, 2014.

Intel might throw in the towel on its revolutionary TV service

It's bad news for TV viewers interested in alternative services as Intel has apparently decided to give up on its exciting aspirations for a subscription TV service. AllThingsD reports that Intel is currently in talks with Verizon to "hand over control of Intel Media, the unit that has been trying to build a Web-based subscription TV service." Rumors surrounding the service have been circulating for months, but Intel never public unveiled the set-top box that would run its service, nor did the company set a date for its release.

This new Firefox plug-in shows you exactly how your browsing is being monitored

Mozilla has developed a Firefox add-on called Lightbeam that could change the way you look at your daily Internet activity. Mozilla says that Lightbeam "enables you to examine individual third parties over time and space, identify where they connect to your online activity and provides ways for you to engage with this unique view of the Web." As you browse, your activity is constantly being monitored by third parties on the websites you visit, often without any signs or warnings whatsoever.
